James H. Howitt, M.D.
is a graduate of the University of Michigan, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology.  He received his Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Miami School of Medicine and completed an internship in Internal Medicine at Jackson Memorial Hospital.  During his residency in Ophthalmology at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, he trained in diseases and surgery of the eye and developed expertise in diabetic eye disease.

Dr. Howitt has been the recipient of numerous awards including the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute Edward W.D. Norton Award and the University of Miami School of Medicine Summer Scholarship Award.  He conducts research and has published several articles regarding the diagnosis and treatment of eye disease.  He is board certified by the  American Board of Ophthalmology and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Dr. Howitt is on staff at Aventura Hospital and Medical Center, Jackson North Medical Center, North Shore Medical Center, and North Miami Beach Surgical Center.

Gianmarco R. Paris, M.D.
is a graduate of the Central University of Venezuela School of Medicine, where he graduated summa cum laude. He was awarded the Fundayacucho National Excellence Scholarship for his academic performance.  He completed his ophthalmolgy residency at the Venezuelan Premier Ophthalmology training program, Hospital “J. A. Risquez”.  He then completing a two year Fellowship in Glaucoma at The University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio where he was awarded the Gillingham fellowship and a Whitehead Fellowship Award. In order to meet the American Board of Ophthalmology requirements, he went on to complete a second internship and ophthalmology residency program, at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. Following his residency training he remained as faculty at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio before moving to South Florida to enter private practice.

Dr. Paris has published numerous articles in peer reviewed journals and has lectured at multiple international meetings about Glaucoma.  He is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the Pan American Association of Ophthalmology.  Dr Paris is fluent in English, Spanish and Italian.

Andres Sarraga, M.D. was born and raised in Puerto Rico. He has been in practice in South Florida for the past 3 years. After completing his undergraduate studies in Chemistry in Loyola University in Chicago, he went back home to attend medical school at the University of Puerto Rico where he graduated top 10% in his class. He then went on to complete a full general surgery residency. During his early surgical training while on his oncologic hospital rotations, Dr Sarraga found his passion in the field of plastic and reconstructive surgery.  In his senior year he was chosen among his peers as administrative chief resident of the general surgery service at the UPR Medical Center and the VA hospital. Afterwards Dr. Sarraga went North to complete his plastic surgery residency at the prestigious University of Massachusetts in New England. During his last year of training he was again appointed as Administrative Chief resident. Fascinated by eyelid surgery he then pursued advanced training in Ophthalmic and Reconstructive Surgery with a veteran Oculoplastic Surgeon, Dr. Pascale Perusse, at the University of Massachusetts. He then moved to South Florida where he began his practice at the Storch Plastic Surgery Facility in Aventura.

Dr. Sarraga is board certified by the American Board of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery and the American Board of Surgery and is fellowship trained in Oculoplastic Surgery. He is fluent in both Spanish and English. He is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha society and is past assistant clinical professor at the University of Massachusetts after graduating from his Plastic Surgery residency. He has lectured and presented at multiple meetings on current topics such as craniofacial reconstruction and fat grafting.

Dr. Sarraga specializes in eyelid and periorbital surgery, including cosmetic surgery of the face, fat grafting  and non surgical rejuvenation (Botox & Fillers).

David Tenzel MD, FACSDavid Tenzel, M.D. has been a resident of Florida for more than 35 years and has always considered Florida his home. His training began at the University of Miami, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in 1980. He completed two years at Chicago Medical School and then transferred to the University of Miami School of Medicine, completing his medical degree in 1985.

Dr. Tenzel completed an internship at Deaconess Hospital in St. Louis. His three-year Ophthalmology residency was completed in Los Angeles, California, where he served as Chief Resident and earned an award for outstanding achievement.

Upon returning to Florida, Dr. Tenzel completed a Fellowship in Oculoplastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute. He has been in private practice in South Florida since 1990. A board-certified ophthalmologist, Dr. Tenzel has written many book chapters and journal articles on oculoplastic procedures, cosmetic eyelid surgery, reconstructive procedures and lacrimal surgery. He has lectured on oculoplastic surgery topics at several optometric meetings, trained ophthalmologists and optometry students in oculoplastics, diagnostics and treatment.

Dr. Tenzel, a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, has served as Chairman of Ophthalmology at Doctor’s Hospital in Hollywood and is a former Chairman of Ophthalmology at Columbia Aventura Hospital. He is currently listed in Who’s Who in America, and has also been listed in Best Doctors in America and Best Doctors in the Southeast Region.

Dr. David Tenzel is well-versed in oculoplastic and reconstructive surgery techniques, which include surgery of the eyelids and ocular adnexa, as well as all many types of cosmetic procedures of the brows, eyelids and the upper face. He has been performing cosmetic procedures for more than 17 years, including Botox, fillers (such as Restylane and Juvederm) and laser treatment regimens.

David A. Howitt, M.D.
is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Rochester, where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree.  He received a Doctorate of Medicine from the State University of New York, Downstate Medical Center and completed an internship in medicine at the Long Island College Hospital.  His residency training in ophthalmology was at Kings County Medical Center, State University of New York. Dr. Howitt is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.  He has served the North Dade Community in private practice for over 25 years.
